Churches

As well as the four churches there are also two church halls.  There is a varied pattern of worship in the churches and details of services can be found in the Fife Herald and on the Services        page of this web site . The churches are also used for weddings, funerals and the occasional concert.  The halls are used by the church and are also a community resource, being  used for things like coffee mornings. playgroups, after school club etc. And are available for hire for other suitable events.

Ladybank was united with Collessie under the name “Collessie and Ladybank” by the then Presbytery of Cupar on January 7th 1968 under the ministry of Rev A Philp.

The Presbytery of Cupar had earlier linked Cults and Kettle on April 7th 1963 upon the retirement of Rev Archibald Bell from Cults, the Rev Wm Flint of Kettle having already retired on the last day of 1962.

All four historic buildings are listed and the congregation maintains them for the community.  There are also emotional ties as many families have worshipped in the same church for many years.

Today the four parishes are one.  There is one Kirk Session, one Congregational Board and one minister.

Our buildings are a great responsibility, but also a great resource for the community.  However, they are not the church.  It is the people who use them who are the church.  Together the Christians in this parish are the Howe of Fife Parish Church and stronger because of the support we give each other.
